Maple Heights, OH

Now.. that's a face and a half!! Who would ever think that these guys have a bad reputation.. wonderfully done!!

Lacey, Wa

The only critter more likely to rip your face off would be a wolverine...they may look cute but they is mean, mean, mean! Badgers tore up my uncle's hunting cabin once. They ripped through everything...even the tin cans. They punctured them with their teeth: Slopped around in the mess, then dumped out flour, sugar and ground coffee. Oh yes, they peed all over, too. Mean, I tell you. :-D

Hickory, NC

Well I was trying to represent the non-mischievous portion of the Badger population :-)

Youve done a great job on this one! I dont see many badgers being painted, and wonder why. The true Badger Spirit is in this painting

Evelyn - Thanks for the "congrats" - much appreciated!!

Torrington, De - United Kingdom

So much energy in this piece...I think a different temperament to our UK badgers, from the other comments I have read! I am impressed at how you have combined a watercolour look as well as a heavy oil look in this...fantastic!

J W Baker replied:

Yes - our indigenous Badger is a grumpy, irritable fellow, but still I think they deserve recognition as a part of the Circle.... : )

Clearwater, FL - United States

In your painting of the Badger you captured the animals’ character….. You can see it in his eyes… And that is hard to do….. Excellent….

J W Baker replied:

Thank you Clifford - I have always thought that the Badger gets a bad rep, so it seemed appropriate to try to present Him from a different perspective... Thank you for seeing that different aspect! :)

Mount Pleasant, SC - United States

Sydney, NS - Australia

Beautifully observed nuances of this fellow's character and physical appearance. Fine Art, as is all your work.

J W Baker replied:

Thank you Vivian - I think it is the subtle "nuances" that make the difference between maybe getting the story across and definitely making your point - I am happy to know that effort is recognized!!
