Description:

This painting is the end piece of a series titled; "Medicine Woman" where each painting has a simple title to serve as a summation of the intent behind each scene - "Medicine-Woman, Journey, Lament, Solitude, Release" and now "Mystery" - the idea was/is a visual gestalt of an internal transformation brought about by one's life circumstances that illustrates the triumph of the Inner Spirit as opposed to being victimized by outside circumstance and influence - essentially the central figure turns her 'stumbling blocks' into stepping stones and finds she is even stronger and wiser than she realized - the Owl is the Guide, the Messenger and even her alter ego, or Spirit Self that is able to fly free at will and act as a Guide (and Messenger) to aid others who have not yet found that personal power within.
