Description:
Quest | noun | a long or arduous search for something
- As stated with regard to the painting; "Pilgrimage " - sometimes the journey is within - a significant stressing event in life can lead to questions that require a revisiting of the milestones that have marked the major waypoints that form a life...
Whereas "Pilgrimage" is about realizing the journey must be undertaken, "Quest" is about the journey itself. It's about realizing that all answers come from within, and the way to access those answers is in learning to frame the right questions -the question creates context, which in turn gives the appropriate "answer " actual meaning that can then be transmuted from simple information to applicable, profound wisdom.
Memories are often fragmented and disjointed and it is only through effort can we pull them together so that they coalesce to form the mnemonic keys necessary to unlock the 'door' constructed by past experiences; the door that bars our forward progress to the life we visualize and aspire to.
In every quest, the goal is always at the end of a journey - the Wizard represents the Seeker; the wisdom to choose - the faraway Mountain the goal. The same color palette has been used to paint both the Mountain and the Wizard because the destination (the goal) is within the Seeker (they are one and the same) - the White Bear (Polar Bear) represents the Guide; that better aspect of our nature that gives us hope, and symbolizes our connection to a higher/spiritual self that can be realized.

Synnove - I think I'm starting to get the hang of this painting thing - seriously though, "Thank You" for the kind words and regarding the "giving of compliments" - that part is easy when you look at such fine works as your own - you just say what you are inspired to say!
